Your home insurance lapsed. Find the fastest safe path back to coverage.
A lapse means there may be a period when the policy is no longer in force. First confirm the exact status and effective date with the insurer. Then determine whether reinstatement is possible or whether new coverage must be secured.

“I don't have insurance” is the result, not the diagnosis. HAVRYO should identify the event that created the gap because nonpayment, cancellation, non-renewal and an unsuccessful replacement search can require different next steps.
Confirm policy status
Use insurer records—not assumptions—to establish whether coverage ended and the precise effective date.
Identify the cause
Was it nonpayment, cancellation, non-renewal, a missed renewal action or another reason? Route to the correct problem path.
Ask about reinstatement
If reinstatement may be available, confirm requirements and effective date directly. Never assume a reinstated policy erases an earlier uninsured period.
Secure new coverage
If reinstatement is unavailable or unsuitable, move quickly through licensed-market options and, when appropriate, the FAIR Plan path.
Cancellation, non-renewal and lapse are not interchangeable.
HAVRYO already has separate decision paths for cancellation versus non-renewal. This page becomes the recovery layer when the homeowner may already be without active coverage.
If a mortgage is involved, the homeowner should also understand any lender communications or insurance requirements tied to the property. HAVRYO should not assume what a lender will do.
Timing can differ from other termination reasons
Colorado law contains specific notice provisions for cancellation due to nonpayment. Use the actual notice and current law rather than applying a generic deadline.
Effective date matters
Ask whether reinstatement is available and exactly when coverage would be effective. A payment or application does not itself prove continuous coverage.
Insurance and lender obligations can intersect
Review lender communications and mortgage requirements if applicable. Any lender-placed coverage issue should be evaluated from the actual documents.
HAVRYO does not bind insurance
Only an insurer or authorized licensed professional can confirm that coverage is in force and its effective date.
The goal is not another quote. The goal is active coverage.
This module can classify the lapse, surface the immediate next action and route the homeowner to the appropriate insurer, agent or FAIR Plan workflow.

Notice date, payment date, effective date and reason.
Insurer requirements and confirmed effective date if available.
Licensed standard-market search if new coverage is needed.
If standard coverage is unavailable, evaluate FAIR Plan readiness.
Don’t assume you’re covered. Get the status and effective date confirmed.
Then move through reinstatement, replacement coverage or the appropriate last-resort path without confusing one with another.
